She innovates : Women of Weborama Donia, Product Designer at Weborama

Publié le 2 May 2024

In the dynamic world of technology, where innovation knows no bounds, it is essential to spotlight the exceptional women who are shaping the industry and driving progress. We had the privilege of conversing with the brilliant minds working behind the scenes at Weborama, a company at the forefront of digital advertising and data solutions.

It is important to remember that the history of computing itself has been profoundly influenced by visionary women. Over the decades, pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, who wrote the first computer program, and Grace Hopper, who contributed to the development of the first compiler, played a fundamental role in the creation and evolution of this field.

This editorial series aims to restore their nobility to them.

After featuring interviews with Elena, Olga, Narimen and Camille, it’s now the turn of Donia, Product Designer at Weborama, to share her story with us!

Could you please introduce yourself briefly, tell us about your background, and how you arrived here?

I graduated with a degree in Art Direction with a focus on Graphic Design, and pursued an accelerated training program in UX/UI Design. After gaining some initial experience in this field, I aspired to embark on larger projects within a major company,  tackling challenging missions.

Weborama reached out to me for freelance UX/UI projects, and after some discussion, we  mutually agreed that I would join the company as a full time Product Designer.

What is your role at Weborama, and what are your responsibilities?

My role at Weborama involves conceptualizing, designing, and refining products to enhance user experience and meet business objectives. My responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, conducting user research, creating prototypes, iterating designs based on feedback, and ensuring the final product aligns with both user needs and business goals.

Could you share an accomplishment or project that you are particularly proud of since you joined the company?

One achievement I’m proud of is collaborating with the Weborama Data Clean Room  team to develop this innovative application.

One of the main challenges was making a technically complex app user-friendly and  accessible to all users.

It was a rewarding journey to strike a balance between technical sophistication and user friendly design, ultimately enhancing the overall user experience.

What skills or qualities do you believe women bring to the field of technology, and how does it strengthen the team at Weborama?

Women bring diverse skills and perspectives to tech, enhancing teamwork at Weborama.  Their collaborative nature, attention to detail, and empathy lead to more innovative  solutions. Embracing gender diversity strengthens our team dynamics and better equips us  to address client needs.

What advice would you give to young women looking to pursue a career in tech, especially at Weborama?

Pursue your passion, master the basics, seek out mentoring, network and collaborate, stay resilient, and finally, be confident.

Outside of your work, are you involved in any initiatives or activities aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in tech or within Weborama?

Currently, I’m part of a large team of both men and women, and we’re in the process of  creating a group specifically for women in tech. Our slogan is “WOMEN POWERING TECH”.

Can you tell us about a woman in tech who inspires you and how her journey has influenced your own career?

I must admit, my knowledge about public figures in the tech industry is rather limited,  having come from the world of fashion and cosmetics and now embarking on my first  venture in tech with Weborama.

However, I’ll talk about someone I deeply admire within our company. This person is a true  businesswoman with remarkable strength, ambition, and courage. She’s a committed,  versatile, and leading figure with international experience.

CEO, yoga teacher, involved in humanitarian associations, and mother at the same time, she truly embodies the example of a woman respected by all, not only for her exceptional  professional skills, but also for her inspiring personality.

Always with a big smile on her face, exuding determination and confidence in parallel, she is  a model of success and positivity.

I greatly aspire to follow in her footsteps and achieve such a level of excellence and respect  in my own career.

Her name is Mykim Chikli.
