How does Weborama collect your data?
When you browse our clients’ websites, our partner network or when a web user is exposed to an advertisement, third-party Weborama cookies may be deposited or read on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone). A cookie is a small text file deposited on your browser or your device. It enables the website to collect information about your browsing and your interactions with the website for analysis and advertising purposes or to improve your user experience.
The third-party cookie assigns a unique identifier to your browser or device. This identifier is then shared with other partners via a specific URL or server calls. Third-party platforms receive this identifier and associate it with their own identifiers to synchronise data between different advertising systems. After the synchronisation, the partner platforms can use this data to offer you personalised advertising on behalf of our clients.
This involves setting up one or more correspondence tables to associate Weborama’s identifiers with those of its partners and clients in order to cross-reference online and offline data.
How does Weborama build its behavioural database?
Using data collected on its network of partner websites, Weborama builds its behavioural database relating to your centres of interest.
The centres of interest constructed by Weborama take the form of scores from 1 to 20, depending on the number of times you have been exposed to word clouds during your Internet browsing over the last 30 days. These scores enable us to create audiences.
These audiences designate a group of Internet users who have been segmented using semantic analysis of the words contained in the pages visited on a browser. Weborama does not collect any data that could directly identify you (such as your surname, first name, email address, telephone number, etc.) and does not structure any sensitive data that could reveal your state of health, your racial or ethnic origin, your religion, your sexual orientation, your political opinions or your trade union membership.
What other processing activities does Weborama carry out?
The database is used for :
- Data monetisation: We sell this data to certain partners and customers in the form of segments.
- Segmentation and marketing research: At the request of our clients, we cross-reference our behavioural data with our clients’ data to create specific segments, develop data science algorithms and carry out extensive marketing research.
- Transfer of data to programmatic partners: The database, on its own or enriched with our customers’ data, can be transferred to advertising delivery partners.
Once the data has been transferred to the activation partners (DSPs), it is used by the activation teams to run programmatic advertising campaigns.
The effectiveness of the campaigns is measured using statistics such as the number of exposures, clicks and conversions. To calculate these indicators, we use tracers (tags and pixels) to collect the context of exposure, clicks and conversions on the customer’s site.
What categories of data does Weborama process?
Weborama collects and uses pseudonymous data such as cookie identifiers, hashed IP addresses and hashed emails on behalf of its clients. The technology offered by Weborama makes it possible to collect data relating to user browsing on the Internet.
As part of its services, Weborama may act as a data controller when it collects data through its services. It may also act as a processor when it acts on the orders and instructions of its clients.
As stipulated in Weborama’s contractual agreements, partners are required to inform you of the presence of Weborama technology on the websites you visit. They are also required to obtain your consent for the collection and use of your data. Weborama monitors compliance with this contractual obligation.
