The Genesis of WeboWomen

Publié le 2 July 2025

Did you know that at the current pace, achieving true gender equality in the workplace might take decades or even a century? Research shows that gender parity in the workforce remains a distant goal. Similarly, European studies indicate that women hold only about 20% of tech roles in companies. At Weborama, we find these numbers unacceptable. That’s why we’re committed to challenging the status quo through our initiative, WeboWomen.

Why WeboWomen? The idea behind WeboWomen stems from Weborama’s core values: Collaboration and Challenge. These values inspired us to challenge societal and workplace norms while collaborating across teams to make a meaningful impact. It all began in 2023 with our LinkedIn campaign, “She Innovates,” which celebrated the women at Weborama who are driving innovation. This campaign sparked a conversation among the participants: What more can we do to empower women at Weborama?

The result was a kick off of the initiative, spearheaded by an inspiring group of women of RnD department: Donia, Olga, Narimen, Anne-Catherine, Kristina, and Charlotte. They came together to brainstorm ideas and take action.

Today, WeboWomen is an open and inclusive group of 16 members from various departments—Managers, QA, Developers, Product Owners, Communications, HR, and SRE. There is no leader; instead, everyone contributes equally, embodying the collaborative spirit of our initiative.

We’ve also partnered with the CSE committee to align our efforts with broader company objectives, ensuring that WeboWomen reflects Weborama’s commitment to social responsibility.

Objectives of WeboWomen

From our first official meeting, we brainstormed and identified key objectives to drive our mission:

  • Well-being and Inclusion: Ensure a respectful and fulfilling work environment for women.
  • Equality of Opportunity: Support the professional growth of all employees.
  • Awareness: Engage the entire company in fostering an inclusive culture.

Actions Taken So Far

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in a short time. Here’s what we’ve accomplished:

  • Recognition and Visibility:
    • Official validation of WeboWomen as a critical initiative.
    • Increased visibility company-wide, with support from the Communications team.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Grown our membership and fostered active participation in discussions and activities.
  • External Communication:
    • Participated in industry events and initiated partnerships with organizations like Sistech.
  • Quick Wins:
    • Revamped our hiring process with inclusive job ad templates and implemented small but impactful workplace culture enhancements.

Looking Ahead

The road ahead is exciting but challenging. We’ll continue to:

  • Raise awareness on topics like harassment and inclusivity.
  • Strengthen partnerships with organizations that share our vision.
  • Improve onboarding and training processes to foster inclusivity from day one.
  • Organize events and initiatives that keep inclusivity at the center of Weborama’s culture.

Early Results and Impact

The WeboWomen initiative has already made waves within Weborama. Employees report that conversations around difficult topics, like inclusion and harassment, are becoming more frequent and open. Silos are breaking down, and awareness is spreading. As one colleague shared: *”It’s now a subject of conversation that comes up more often. People are more involved and inspired to tackle challenging issues.”

Conclusion

WeboWomen represents Weborama’s commitment to a future where inclusion and well-being are at the forefront. While the road to gender equality may be long, every step forward brings us closer to our goal. Together, we’re building a workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
