Publié le 19 November 2024

In the dynamic world of technology, where innovation knows no bounds, it is essential to spotlight the exceptional women who are shaping the industry and driving progress. We had the privilege of conversing with the brilliant minds working behind the scenes at Weborama, a company at the forefront of digital advertising and data solutions.

It is important to remember that the history of computing itself has been profoundly influenced by visionary women. Over the decades, pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, who wrote the first computer program, and Grace Hopper, who contributed to the development of the first compiler, played a fundamental role in the creation and evolution of this field.

This editorial series aims to restore their nobility to them.

After featuring interviews with Elena, Olga, Narimen and Camille, it’s now the turn of Deborah, Data activation manager at Weborama, to share her story with us!

– Can you briefly introduce yourself, your background and how you got here?

After several years of experience as a digital marketing manager in the online advertising industry, one event changed everything: the birth of my daughter. This moment marked a turning point in my career, pushing me to take on new challenges. Among the fields that once seemed out of reach, the role of media trader stood out. I first discovered it at the end of my studies six years ago, it intrigued me but also intimidated me with its technical complexity.

Two months ago, I decided to overcome my apprehensions and take the leap. The timing was perfect, and I had the opportunity to join Weborama, a company where innovation and data analysis shape our vision daily. Today, I’m proud to contribute to the transformation of a rapidly evolving industry. The gradual phasing out of third-party cookies, in particular, poses a significant challenge but also opens exciting opportunities to explore new, more user-friendly data strategies.

– What is your role within Weborama and what are your responsibilities?

As a Data Activation Manager at Weborama, my mission is to optimize advertising campaigns by identifying and targeting the most relevant audiences through data analysis. This involves media buying and placement on programmatic platforms, analyzing performance to refine strategies, and creating and activating audience segments based on both cookies and contextual targeting, tailored to advertisers’ briefs.

Contextual targeting is our true superpower. It allows us to reach users we don’t yet know. By analyzing the pages they visit, we can build precise profiles, making our campaigns more relevant and impactful.

At Weborama, I thrive in an environment where innovation and precision drive every initiative, turning each campaign into a new opportunity to push the boundaries of data-driven marketing.

– Can you share an achievement or project that you are particularly proud of since joining the company?

Since joining Weborama two months ago, I’ve had the opportunity to manage and optimize several campaigns with diverse objectives. To tackle these challenges, I first had to undergo a two-phase learning process. Working within an adtech company, it was essential to familiarize myself with the technologies that make Weborama’s strength: our ad server, our audience segmentation and activation tool, our contextual targeting tool, and our partners for campaign setup and optimization.

The project I’m most proud of is a fixed CPC campaign with highly precise geographic targeting. Despite the inherent complexity of such targeting, I successfully met the objectives while maintaining optimal audience quality. This experience perfectly reflects the combination of technical expertise and strategic adaptation at Weborama.

– What skills or qualities do you think women bring to technology and how does this strengthen the team at Weborama?

Women bring invaluable skills to the tech industry: creativity, analytical thinking, and compassionate leadership. These qualities are crucial for driving performance and fostering innovation within companies. Additionally, they enhance teams by offering diverse perspectives, which is vital in a rapidly evolving sector.

At Weborama, women play a pivotal role by strengthening team dynamics through their collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and empathy. This contributes to creating an inclusive and high-performing work environment.

– How do you see the importance of diversity and representation of women in tech, and how is this reflected at Weborama?

I am convinced that greater representation of women in the tech sector is crucial for breaking gender stereotypes and fostering a truly inclusive work environment. By increasing the presence of women in technical and leadership roles, companies not only promote equality but also cultivate a culture that embraces diversity in all its forms.

This diversity challenges biases and fosters a dynamic where everyone feels respected, heard, and valued. I believe that integrating talents with diverse experiences and perspectives is a key driver for more inclusive and effective innovation.

– What advice would you give to young women who want to pursue a career in tech, particularly at Weborama?

I would tell them, first and foremost, to believe in themselves. Confidence is the first step toward success. The tech industry is constantly evolving, and every challenge presents an opportunity to learn and push personal limits, that’s what makes it so exciting.

Continuous learning, curiosity, and stepping out of your comfort zone are essential. At Weborama, we thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment that fosters personal growth and involvement in stimulating projects. Finally, I’d encourage everyone to trust in their skills and boldly share their ideas. It’s through this that we grow and make a positive impact on our teams.

– Outside of work, are you involved in any initiatives or activities to promote diversity and inclusion in tech or within Weborama?

Outside of work, I’m a member of The Women in Programmatic Network (TWIPN), an initiative dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the programmatic industry. This network provides a space where women and allies can support one another, share experiences, and collaborate to make the sector more inclusive and equitable.

Being part of TWIPN has been incredibly enriching. It has broadened my perspectives, strengthened my commitment to equality, and allowed me to connect with passionate professionals who share this vision.

– Can you tell us about a woman in tech who inspires you and how her journey has influenced your own career?

Margarita Zlatkova is a woman who deeply inspires me. She stands out for her mastery of technical subjects, whether it’s cookies or alternative solutions, and her confidence in an ever-evolving industry. Her expertise and career path are a true source of motivation, encouraging me to push my boundaries and approach the challenges of the tech world with confidence and ambition.
